2008 Midland Open
 
Entries are now being taken for the 2008 Midland Open 8-Ball Pool Championships and this event is open only to the first 64 AMATEUR players who pay the £25 entry fee.

With a prize fund of over £1,500 on the day (£450 to the winner) this one is not too be missed and places are available on a first-come first-served basis only.

The event is on Saturday, 30th August, 2008 and will be held at West Midland Pool & Snooker Club, Bilston Keys Industrial Estate, Oxford Road, Bilston,

West Midlands WV14 7DW.

All matches will be played to WEPF World rules, best of 11 frames, with prize money paid to the Last 16 and a plate event for all competitors who lose in rounds one and two.

Date: Saturday, 30th August, 2008

Venue: West Midland Pool & Snooker Club, Bilston Keys Industrial Estate, Oxford Road, Bilston, West Midlands WV14 7DW.

As well as the obvious excellent pool on show the club also boasts other features to make the day even more entertaining. A full hot food menu including curry dishes and all day breakfast is available.

Draw: To be made in advance, subject to 64 advance entries*. All players will be notified of there individual start times and the full draw will be published in advance on uk8ball.com and various regional webistes.

Format: The main event is straight knockout and all matches played to WEPF World Rules and best of 11 frames. The plate event will be best of 5 frames.

Remaining monies paid out in free plate event

Entry:            Restricted to UK residents only, 18 + years old, with an entry fee of £20 per person.  Entry forms to be downloaded and sent, with a cheque/postal order, made payable to E.P.A.:-

Rules:            Played to World 8-ball Pool Rules.

Play:              Play will commence at 10 am on date given for each venue and the event will be completed on that day, with 4 players going forward to the final qualifier on June 8th at Leicester where 32 players will play for 8 places at the World Finals in Blackpool.

                      8 national finalists play from 2nd July to 4th July in early stages, and if they progress, in the Televised stages 8th to 10th July.

Dress Code:   No denims or trainers please.  Dress code will be enforced.

Venue:           Only 8 venues see above for venue and details for your chosen location, ONLY 32 PLAYERS ALLOWED PER VENUE.

Conditions     All players must agree to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the E.P.A.  – Tournament Directors decisions will be final.

Of Entry:       8 players who go forward to Blackpool will have their accommodation and entry fee to World Championships paid for.
